About the role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Sanctions Analyst to join the Economic Crime Compliance team (sitting within 2nd Line Risk) at a pivotal time for the organisation. With sanctions regulation continuing to evolve and the financial crime landscape becoming increasingly complex, this role plays a key part in helping ensure the business maintains a robust and effective sanctions compliance framework. The Senior Sanctions Analyst will support the Sanctions Compliance Lead in the development, enhancement and oversight of the Group's sanctions risk management framework. The role holder will provide expert guidance on sanctions matters, support complex investigations and escalations, and help ensure that sanctions risks are identified, assessed and managed effectively across the organisation. Working within a 2LoD function, this highly collaborative role offers the opportunity to influence business decisions, control design and risk management practices. The role operates on a team-led hybrid approach with at least 1 day per week in either of our fantastic Coventry or Manchester offices. This is a full-time 35 hours per week role, however we are open to flexible working options. Our benefits include:

About you This opportunity would suit a sanctions professional who enjoys solving complex financial crime challenges, providing expert advice and influencing positive risk outcomes. For this role you'll need to have:
Experience as a Sanctions Advisor or similar Sanctions focused Economic Crime role within a retail banking (or equivalent) environment
Strong knowledge of UK, EU, UN and OFAC sanctions regimes.
Experience handling complex sanctions investigations and escalations.
Ability to provide risk-based advice to senior stakeholders.
Exposure to sanctions risk management tools and technology
Second line oversight experience
ICA, ACAMS or similar qualification
