Senior Product Designer (UX/UI) Manchester | Full-time | Hybrid / Office-based / Remote

Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience

Our Client is a fast-growing UK business finance company based in Manchester.

They SMEs access funding from across the market, and we’re now investing heavily in building our own technology to completely rethink how businesses find, apply for and manage finance.

There ambition is to build a best-in-class digital experience for business finance — combining great design, automation, AI, Open Banking and lending marketplace, into one single platform.

They already have an in-house technology team building platform architecture. We’re now looking for an exceptional Product Designer to work alongside them and take ownership of the UX and UI across the entire product workflow. The Role

This isn’t a role where you’ll be handed a finished specification and asked to make it look nice.

We want someone who can understand the problem we’re trying to solve, challenge how things currently work and design a much better experience.

You’ll work directly with the CEO, CTO and development team to design both sides of our platform:

The customer experience — where business owners can apply for finance, connect their accounts, upload information, understand their financial position, receive matched funding offers and manage their finance.

The internal experience — where our brokers and operations team manage thousands of enquiries, applications, lender interactions and customer conversations as efficiently as possible.

There is a lot to build, and you’ll have significant freedom to shape how it works.

What You’ll Be Designing

The platform will ultimately cover the full business finance journey, including

Customer onboarding and finance applications

Open Banking and account connectivity

Financial and banking data visualisation

Credit and eligibility information

Intelligent lender and product matching

Funding offers and comparison

Document collection and management

Customer dashboards and portals

Broker and operations CRM workflows

AI-assisted customer communication

AI-powered underwriting and application processing

Automated lender submissions

Reporting and management dashboards

Mobile enabled

The challenge is taking something that traditionally looks and works much the same across CRM platforms, and making it simpler, more intuitive and genuinely enjoyable to use. What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is equally comfortable thinking about how a product should work as they are designing how it should look.

You’ll probably have

Strong experience designing digital products, SaaS platforms or fintech products

An exceptional portfolio demonstrating both UX thinking and high-quality UI

Experience designing complex workflows and simplifying them for users

Experience creating and maintaining design systems in Figma

Strong understanding of responsive and mobile-first design

Experience working directly with developers

The ability to wireframe and prototype ideas quickly

Strong commercial awareness and understanding that good design ultimately needs to improve conversion, engagement and efficiency

Confidence challenging existing thinking rather than simply taking instructions

Fintech experience would be useful, particularly within lending, banking, payments or financial marketplaces, but it isn’t essential.
