Senior Network Engineer

Senior Network Engineer – 6-month contract

VIQU IT has a customer who are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join their team, combining strong technical expertise with excellent planning and project management capabilities.

This is a varied and hands-on role that goes beyond configuration work. You will play a key part in supporting business-as-usual (BAU) operations while also driving and coordinating small to medium-sized projects that arise from remediation activities.

Key Responsibilities

Support BAU network operations, ensuring stability, performance, and security

Plan and deliver remediation-driven projects (e.g., security patching, firmware upgrades, hardware refreshes)

Work closely with the Network Team Lead to support resource allocation, workload planning, and prioritisation

Manage and coordinate incident response, ensuring timely resolution and communication

Handle vendor maintenance notifications and assess operational impact

Raise and manage change requests in line with governance processes

Use tools such as Jira (or equivalent) to track tasks, projects, and team activities

Skills & Experience

Strong background in network engineering (routing, switching, security, and infrastructure)

Proven ability to plan and deliver projects, not just execute technical tasks

Experience supporting BAU environments alongside project delivery

Familiarity with ITSM processes (incident, change, problem management)

Strong organisational and coordination skills, with attention to detail

Experience with Jira or similar project management tools

For this role you will be required to be onsite in London 2-3 days per week.
