Job Description

At Zego, we know that traditional motor insurance holds good drivers back. It’s too complicated, too expensive, and it doesn't take into account how well you actually drive.

That’s why, since 2016, we’ve been on a mission to change all of that. Our mission at Zego is to offer the lowest priced insurance for good drivers.

From van drivers and gig workers to everyday car drivers, our customers are our driving force — they’re at the heart of everything we do.

We’ve sold tens of millions of policies so far, and raised over $200 million in funding. And we’re only just getting started.

Purpose of the role

You will play a key role in shaping and maturing the ITOps function at Zego, embedding service excellence, security, and operational efficiency as first-class concerns.

You will be a key member of the ITOps team, owning the delivery and continuous improvement of IT services across a fast-growing, technology-led organisation.

You will build strong relationships with stakeholders across Engineering, Security and the wider business, acting as a trusted point of contact for escalated IT issues and security best practices.

You will champion ITOps tooling and automation, driving continuous improvement through metrics, ticket data, and process retrospectives.

What you will be doing

Drive service quality improvements across the ITOps function, influencing stakeholders to adopt best practices and embed IT security and compliance as a shared responsibility.

Define and document technical solutions with a clear analysis of risks, security, and scalability, balancing operational rigour with business priorities.

Critically assess processes and systems, identifying toil and inefficiencies, and driving automation-led improvements that reduce operational burden.

Nurture a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the ITOps team and across the wider business.

Use AI tooling and automation to streamline repetitive processes, improve response times, and enhance the overall IT service experience.

What you will need to be successful

We are looking for an engineer who embraces a culture of automation and continuous improvement, leveraging AI tooling to drive operational excellence across IT services. You will engage and empower the business through data-driven decisions, while bringing hands-on experience managing identity, device, and SaaS tooling at scale.

Proven experience managing identity and access at scale, including SSO, SAML, SCIM provisioning, and lifecycle management using Okta.

Strong hands-on experience with MDM platforms, ideally Kandji (Iru), covering device enrolment, policy management, and compliance enforcement across macOS and iOS fleets.

Solid experience administering Google Workspace, including user lifecycle, group management, and security configuration.

Experienced with ITSM platforms such as Freshservice, using ticket data and reporting to drive service improvements and identify recurring issues.

Demonstrable experience leveraging AI tooling to automate repetitive IT workflows, improve response times, and enhance service delivery.

Experienced in deploying and administering AI platforms and integrations across the organisation.

Comfortable writing production-grade automation scripts deployed at scale via MDM, with a focus on automating IT processes and reducing toil.

A solid understanding of IT security principles, including endpoint security, access controls, and compliance, experience with ISO 27001 or SOC 2 environments a plus.

Strong troubleshooting skills across macOS, SaaS platforms, and network connectivity issues.

Experience supporting audits and contributing to security or compliance workstreams.

Comfortable supporting developer tooling and engineering workflows.

You will be someone who’s actively curious about how AI can enhance your work - keen to experiment, learn quickly, and apply tools that improve productivity, streamline tasks, or unlock new ways of thinking. Whether y
