Role Purpose
We are seeking an enthusiastic and impactful person, to use their commercial acumen and analytical skills to help our teams make better decisions. This is not a traditional data role, we expect our team to be out in the business, working with operators and other functions to make the business better.
We use data, analytics, and deep insights to drive business strategy, innovation, and decision-making. We are value generators through elevating operational delivery, enhancing consumer experiences and optimizing innovation and new investment opportunities.
You will act as a business partner for stakeholders across your business unit, partnering with decision-makers at various sites, covering various areas of sports and leisure. Your personality is more important than your qualifications, you need to be able to operate at pace, navigating uncertainty to support the strategic for our partners. Key Responsibilities
Deliver a holistic package of insights to decision makers at selected venues that covers strategic and tactical decisions around pricing, operations, commercials, sustainability, guest experience, and technology.
Develop action plans alongside operations to maximise revenue and margin, exploring the potential impact of changes, and informing ROI models to ensure the right decision is made. Support ongoing review of performance and deliver analytics that answer the ‘so-what’ question.
Act as business partner to internal and external stakeholders, presenting messages with confidence and impact either at regular meetings or ad-hoc workshops.
Line management of a small team of Junior Insights Managers and overall responsibility for the delivery of a business unit through the team. This includes day to day task management, objective setting, performance management and mentoring.
Work with the BUILT team to identify opportunities for technology and innovation to improve performance including solution ideation, implementation support and post-implementation monitoring.
Inform and deliver client reporting packs including financial performance, operational statistics, and value-add analytics to maximise the value delivered for our client partners. This would be in conjunction with operations, finance, HR, and any other relevant teams.
Support the evolution of budgeting and forecasting for both event by event and longer-term financial forecasts, to ensure that the correct strategic and tactical decisions are being made. Drive a modern, data-led approach in these areas, minimising manual work wherever possible.
Deliver data-led insights for other key strategic initiatives that may include wastage reduction, labour optimisation, new system implementation, capex plans and rebids/retentions.
Inform and take part in internal client review meetings and processes, supporting the operations, finance and HR teams to deliver learnings and improvement. Use data and analytics to inform decision making around venue master plans and enhancements.
