The Legal Team

The Legal team supports Datadog's rapid growth by providing a wide range of legal services across a highly dynamic technology company, from driving new business via contracts and compliance efforts, to protecting Datadog's intellectual property. Datadog's Legal team works with virtually every team across the organization, from engineering to product to marketing.

The Opportunity

Datadog is looking for an employment attorney to join our growing Global Employment Team and act as a trusted partner and advisor to the People Team, the business, and other key stakeholders across the company on all matters impacting our workforce and culture. This role will focus on supporting the EMEA region but will provide support for global initiatives and projects as needed.

You Will

Provide advice and day-to-day support for the People Team and key business stakeholders on all areas of employment law including recruiting and hiring, performance management, leaves of absences, accommodations, terminations, compensation, harassment, discrimination, internal investigations, restrictive covenants, and wage and hour issues across Datadog’s EMEA region, with a focus on France.

Keep current on developments in employment laws in region and assist in implementing compliance in partnership with the People Team and other business stakeholders

Support the development and rollout of templates, employment policies and procedures to ensure best practices and compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Create customized trainings in various subject matters

Draft, revise, and advise on employee related documents including employment agreements and separation agreements

Actively support mergers and acquisitions activity and international expansion in region

Identify areas of risk and opportunity in the employment space and work in partnership with the People Team and other key stakeholders to establish policies and procedures to help drive compliance and manage risk

Collaborate with other teams within Legal and across the Datadog to support the successful execution of global projects and initiatives as needed

You Are

A qualified lawyer in Paris, France with at least 6 years post-qualification experience practicing employment law with expertise in French employment law and experience in multiple EMEA jurisdictions (in-house experience at a multinational corporation strongly preferred)

An excellent communicator and able to partner well with colleagues in Legal and HR as well as business stakeholders

Able to provide practical solutions and business-oriented advice on a wide array of complex employment law issues

Passionate about employment law and keep up to date on developments

Interested in working for a dynamic and agile technology business and excited to be part of a growing team

Organized and efficient with your time and tasks

Someone with a good sense of humor who enjoys collaborating with colleagues and working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
