Hays are proud to be partnering with a leading multidisciplinary engineering consultancy to recruit a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for their Manchester office.This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineer to join an established and highly regarded team, working on high-profile projects across a broad range of sectors while helping to drive innovative, sustainable design solutions.

The Role

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will take a leading role in the design and delivery of complex building services projects, working within multidisciplinary teams to deliver technically excellent and sustainable engineering solutions.You will be involved throughout the full project life cycle, from feasibility and concept design through to completion, while supporting clients in achieving their net zero carbon ambitions.This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across the commercial, residential, education, healthcare, energy, sports and mixed-use sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Lead electrical building services design projects from concept through to completion.

Deliver innovative and sustainable engineering solutions that add value for clients.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams across a range of complex developments.

Support clients in achieving decarbonisation and net zero carbon objectives.

Manage project delivery, technical quality and programme requirements.

Develop and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.

Support the continued growth of BIM and digital design capabilities.

Contribute to the adoption of new technologies, automation and improved design processes.

Mentor and support junior engineers and technicians within the team.

Support projects across sectors including

Commercial, residential, education, healthcare, energy, sports & leisure and mixed-Use Developments

Candidate Requirements

We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate

Degree qualification in Electrical or Building Services Engineering, ideally at Master's level.

Chartered Engineer status or in progress through CIBSE, IET or another relevant institution.

Significant experience within electrical building services consultancy.

Proven track record of leading electrical design on a variety of building projects.

Strong technical design and problem-solving abilities.

Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong commercial awareness and client-facing experience.

Ability to manage project workloads and coordinate small teams.

Passion for sustainable building design and low-carbon engineering.

Experience using industry-standard electrical design software.

BIM and Revit experience would be advantageous.

Previous experience supporting and developing junior engineers.
