Credit ControllerShipley | £30,000–£35,000 + Benefits | Permanent Are you an experienced Credit Controller who is naturally curious about technology, AI and finding smarter ways of working?
I'm working with a growing and forward-thinking business based in Shipley who are looking to appoint a Credit Controller to join their finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone who not only enjoys the core responsibilities of credit control but is also keen to embrace new technology, identify efficiencies and play an active role in improving finance processes. The Role You'll take ownership of your own ledger, managing outstanding debt and building strong relationships with customers, whilst also looking at how technology and AI can be used to make the credit control function more efficient.
Managing your own customer ledger and proactively chasing outstanding debt
Contacting customers by telephone and email to secure payment
Allocating cash and maintaining accurate customer account records
Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries
Monitoring aged debt and providing regular updates on outstanding balances
Building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
Supporting month-end processes and reporting
Identifying opportunities to improve existing finance processes and ways of working
Using AI and technology to streamline processes, improve efficiency and reduce manual administration
Supporting the implementation of new systems, tools and processes
Working collaboratively with the wider finance team on continuous improvement projects
About You We're looking for someone who is confident, proactive and commercially minded, with a genuine interest in using technology to improve the way they work.
Previous experience within Credit Control, Accounts Receivable or Sales Ledger
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
A confident and proactive approach to debt collection
Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Good Excel and systems knowledge
An interest in AI, automation and emerging technology
A willingness to challenge existing processes and suggest better ways of working
The ability to work independently whilst also contributing to wider finance projects
You don't need to be an AI expert – we're looking for someone who is open-minded, tech-savvy and excited by the opportunity to learn and use new tools.
