Senior Cloud Engineer

Cloud Engineer (Azure) Edinburgh or London (Hybrid) | £60,000-£80,000

Drop Table are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join the team.

We've been building a modern Azure envrionments for clients withn the financial services sector, as the programmes continues to scale, we are looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join the team and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the platform.

This is a hands-on engineering role within a live, enterprise-scale environment. You will work alongside experienced platform and security engineers to build and refine core Azure capabilities, with a strong emphasis on automation, resilience, and secure-by-design principles.

This is not a greenfield concept piece. The platform is live, in use, and central to how the organisation delivers technology. Responsibilities

Design and implement robust Azure platform components aligned to enterprise standards

Enhance CI/CD capabilities to support reliable, repeatable, low-risk deployments

Embed automation across build, release, and operational workflows

Contribute to platform governance, standards, and engineering best practices

Ensure solutions meet expectations for security, resilience, performance, and cost control

Support the continued modernisation of architecture, tooling, and engineering processes

Technology Environment

Microsoft Azure (including Container Apps, Front Door, API Management)

Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)

Azure DevOps (pipelines and release engineering)

PowerShell

Profile

Proven experience as a hands-on Azure / platform / DevOps engineer

Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture and CI/CD practices

Experience working within regulated or complex enterprise environments

Able to deliver high-quality, supportable solutions without unnecessary complexity

Comfortable contributing to both technical direction and delivery

Desirable

Exposure to C#, SQL Server, Databricks, Azure B2C, or Power Platform

Engagement

FTE Permanent role (unfortunately no sponsorship available)

Hybrid working, with presence in Edinburgh or London

Role embedded within a strategically important transformation programme
