As a Principal Civil Engineer, you'll take a leading role in the technical delivery of civil design projects, guiding a talented engineering team and ensuring excellence across every stage of design and construction. This role offers the chance to shape high-profile projects, influence strategy, and contribute to the sustainable development of essential water infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the civil design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects.
Produce and review technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
Undertake design calculations and analysis using appropriate industry software.
Coordinate civil design with mechanical, electrical, and process engineering disciplines.
Conduct site visits, inspections, and provide technical support during construction.
Mentor junior engineers, review deliverables, and maintain technical quality.
Support business development through input into bids, proposals, and client engagement.
Ensure compliance with UK standards, health and safety legislation, and quality procedures.
8 Years' Experience
BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards professional status (ICE/IStructE/CIWEM).
Minimum 8 years' experience delivering civil engineering designs in the UK water sector.
Excellent leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficient in design tools such as Tekla, TEDDS, STAAD, or AutoCAD.
Strong understanding of UK design codes, Eurocodes, and water industry standards.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
