Senior Business Analyst

Location: London Working pattern: Hybrid Contract: Permanent

We're recruiting a Senior Business Analyst to join the Technology function of a leading UK financial services organisation undergoing significant business, product and technology change.

This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who is at their best when the problem is complex, the requirements are not yet clear and several teams or systems are involved. You'll lead discovery, bring structure to ambiguity and help shape solutions that deliver meaningful outcomes for customers and the wider business.

Working within a cross-functional product engineering team, you'll partner closely with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, Architects, designers and senior business stakeholders. You'll influence product direction, challenge assumptions and translate strategic objectives into clear, testable outcomes that teams can deliver.

What you'll be doing

Leading discovery and analysis across complex business, technology and regulatory change

Defining business problems, desired outcomes, success measures and delivery options

Facilitating workshops with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams

Mapping current and future-state processes, operating models and business capabilities

Assessing how existing systems and organisational capabilities can be used or improved

Translating strategic objectives into epics, user stories, business rules and acceptance criteria

Managing requirements across multiple teams, systems and stakeholder groups

Supporting product prioritisation by balancing value, risk, customer outcomes and technical constraints

Working closely with engineering and architecture teams throughout delivery

Presenting evidence, recommendations and trade-offs to senior decision-makers

Coaching other analysts and contributing to improvements in business analysis standards and ways of working

What we're looking forYou'll be an experienced Senior or Lead Business Analyst with a strong track record of delivering complex business and technology change.

You should be able to demonstrate

Significant experience working as a Business Analyst in complex technology environments

Strong discovery, problem-solving and process-analysis capability

Experience working within agile product delivery teams

The ability to take an unclear problem and turn it into a structured, deliverable outcome

Experience working closely with Product, Engineering, Architecture and design teams

Excellent workshop facilitation and senior stakeholder-management skills

Confidence challenging assumptions and influencing decisions constructively

Experience managing requirements across multiple systems, processes and teams

The ability to move comfortably between strategic discussions and detailed delivery analysis

Experience supporting or coaching other analysts and improving analysis practices

Experience within financial services or another regulated environment would be beneficial. Exposure to CRM, Salesforce or customer-facing digital platforms would also be useful, but is not essential.

This role would suit someone who enjoys operating at the centre of complicated change: creating clarity, shaping practical solutions and ensuring delivery remains focused on genuine business and customer outcomes.
