Senior Accountant - HYBRID

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing independent accountancy practice with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality advice to owner-managed businesses across the North West.

The firm is looking to appoint a Senior Accountant to manage a portfolio of clients, providing a proactive and professional service while working closely with senior leadership. This role is ideal for an experienced practice accountant looking for greater ownership, client interaction and long-term career progression within a collaborative team.

The RoleAs a Senior Accountant, you'll take responsibility for your own client portfolio, building trusted relationships while ensuring a consistently high level of service.

Responsibilities will include

Managing a portfolio of owner-managed business clients from start to finish

Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts

Preparing corporation tax returns

Acting as the primary point of contact for clients

Leading client meetings and providing proactive accounting advice

Preparing accounts in accordance with FRS 102 and FRS 105

Managing deadlines and ensuring timely delivery of work

Working closely with Managers and Directors on more complex assignments

Identifying opportunities to add value through advisory services

Supporting junior members of the team where required

The Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have

ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)

Strong experience within UK accountancy practice

Previous experience managing a portfolio of clients independently

Excellent knowledge of FRS 102 and FRS 105

Experience preparing corporation tax returns

Strong client-facing and relationship management skills

Experience leading client meetings

Personal tax experience would be advantageous but is not essential

Excellent communication and organisational skills
