Job Description
Senior Accountant Knowsley £50,000 - £60,000 + benefits
A high-growth, multi-entity business is looking to appoint a qualified Senior Accountant to support its expanding finance function.
This is an excellent opportunity for a practice-trained accountant-particularly someone moving from a mid-tier audit firm with experience managing a large client portfolio-to step into a broad, commercially focused industry role with real progression potential.
The Opportunity
The business has experienced strong growth in recent years and is evolving its finance structure to support a growing client base and group complexity. This role sits at the heart of the finance team, combining technical accounting, client reporting, and operational finance responsibilities.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders across finance and operations, gaining exposure to board-level reporting and playing a key role in improving financial processes and controls.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation and review of management and statutory accounts across multiple entities
Managing a portfolio of client accounts
Production of quarterly and year-end financial statements
Delivering accurate and timely financial reports for client and board meetings
Supporting cash flow management and project funding reporting
Overseeing billing processes and service charge reconciliations
Managing AR/AP processes and vendor payments
Acting as a key point of contact for client queries and financial matters
Supporting offshore entities (non-audit environment) within the group structure
Driving improvements in systems, controls, and reporting processes
Providing guidance and support to junior team members
About You
Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
Ideally trained within a mid-tier or Top 20 practice
Experience managing a large audit/client portfolio, with exposure to multiple entities
Strong technical accounting skills and experience producing full sets of accounts
Confident communicator, comfortable working with clients and senior stakeholders
Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities
Why Apply?
Clear route for career progression as the business continues to scale
Broad, varied role with significant exposure to leadership and clients
Opportunity to move from practice into a commercial, hands-on environment
Supportive team and collaborative culture
Flexible working environment (hybrid options available once established)
If you are a practice-trained accountant looking for your first move into industry, or seeking a broader role with genuine progression, this is an opportunity to make a real impact in a growing business.
