Security Operations Centre Analyst

Security Operations Centre Analyst | £30,000 - £40,000 | West Yorkshire

Our client runs a 24x7x365 Security Operations Centre supporting customers across multiple industries against an evolving threat landscape. They're looking for a SOC Analyst to join the team on a shift basis, taking ownership of frontline threat detection and response within a busy security operations environment.

Key Responsibilities

Review and triage output from SIEM, IDS/IPS and firewall platforms to detect potential compromise

Act as first responder on confirmed incidents, working through investigation, containment and handover to senior staff where needed

Keep IT, network and security stakeholders informed with clear, timely updates on active threats

Support senior team members in rolling out mitigations and control changes

Flag gaps or inefficiencies in existing monitoring processes and suggest fixes

Required Experience

Working knowledge across firewalls, IDS/IPS, Active Directory, Windows Server, Linux, TCP/IP and cloud environments

Foundational grasp of core security concepts and threat types

Exposure to access/security administration tasks

Familiarity with incident containment, remediation and recovery

Confident communicator with solid customer-facing skills

Sharp analytical instincts and a methodical approach to problem-solving

Open to rotating shift patterns, including nights/weekends

Desirable

Industry-recognised certifications (e.g. CompTIA Security+, SSCP, CEH, GCIH) or working towards

Familiarity with SIEM platforms or IT service management tools

Track record of meeting SLA-driven targets in a fast-paced environment

Comfortable operating within a round-the-clock, shift-based service model
