We are seeking a driven and commercially minded Sales, Partnerships & Development Manager to lead business development and sales for our client in the energy sector. Based in the UK, this role is critical to establishing and growing their services within the UK waste to value sector.

You will interact closely with the Management and Operations team, ensuring their services position them as a differentiated, high-value partner across the UK sustainable energy transition. This is a high-impact, high-autonomy position for a commercially strong individual with a deep understanding of the UK sector.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary business development lead in the UK, building and managing a targeted opportunity pipeline across Project Development, asset owners, operators, industrials and e-mobility players.

Leverage your existing UK network to develop trusted relationships with key customer decision-makers, influencers, and procurement stakeholders, supported by the broader management team.

Proactively identify and shape consulting and service opportunities in areas such as proposed and existing waste to value projects, asset management, asset improvement and operations and maintenance.

Monitor UK renewable energy market developments, regulatory landscape (Ofgem, REMA, Connections Reform), and competitive dynamics to proactively position service and consulting offerings and inform service development.

Sales Execution & Proposal Leadership

Lead the full sales cycle from opportunity identification and qualification through to proposal strategy, negotiation and contract close, ensuring high win rates and commercially sound outcomes.

Develop compelling proposal narratives and competitive differentiators (technical, commercial, risk profile, delivery approach) for key pursuits across the UK region.

Support risk management by identifying and mitigating commercial and contractual risks during proposal and contract negotiation phases.

Maintain clear and regular communication with internal stakeholders across consulting units to ensure alignment and successful execution of the sales cycle.

Experience & qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in engineering, Energy Systems, Business or a related field; a master’s or PhD is an advantage.

A minimum of 8 years’ experience in sales, business development or consulting within the process engineering or energy sector, with a demonstrable track record of developing and closing consulting or advisory engagements.

Significant experience working in the UK energy market is essential including familiarity with UK utilities, transmission system operators, Ofgem regulatory processes and the broader GB electricity market structure. An established network of relevant contacts in the UK energy sector is highly desirable.

Knowledge of renewables technologies including W2E, anaerobic digestion, power systems, including areas such as renewable energy integration, grid modernisation, HVDC, offshore wind, energy storage, power quality, and digital energy solutions.

Demonstrated success in consultative selling: ownership of client relationships and capture cycles (discovery scoping proposal negotiation close).

Comfort operating with high autonomy, building structure from ambiguity, and balancing business development activity with delivery support as required.

Flexibility regarding business travel to service the national market.

Due to the high volume of interest we receive, we aren’t always able to respond to every candidate individually. If you haven’t heard from us within 10 working days, it unfortunately means your application was unsuccessful on this occasion.
