Job Description
The Marketing Assistant supports the marketing team in the planning, coordination, execution, and evaluation of marketing activities, events, and communications. The role plays a key part in ensuring marketing campaigns, conferences, webinars, customer events, and promotional activities are delivered efficiently, professionally, and in compliance with relevant UK regulatory and industry guidelines.
The position also supports lead generation, CRM management, stakeholder engagement, and post-event reporting to help maximise commercial impact and return on investment.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Campaign & Brand Support
Assist in the development and execution of marketing campaigns targeting healthcare professionals (HCPs), hospitals, and other stakeholders.
Support the implementation of brand plans and marketing strategies.
Coordinate the production of marketing materials including brochures, presentations, digital content, promotional assets, and event communications.
Assist with communication planning for events, including social media activity and promotional campaigns.
Track campaign performance and prepare reports on marketing activities and outcomes.
Events, Conferences & Webinar Management
Manage and support the planning and execution of conferences, exhibitions, customer events, webinars, sales-led events, and internal meetings from start to finish.
Coordinate logistics for marketing events including venue sourcing, registrations, travel, accommodation, materials, catering, and delegate communications.
Support educational activities such as advisory panels, training sessions, and workshops.
Lead event planning meetings and ensure timelines, actions, and deliverables are effectively managed.
Ensure all Category 1 and relevant Category 4 events are planned in line with internal processes, compliance requirements, and approval procedures.
Maintain event documentation, event sheets, and tracking processes using internal systems such as Monday.com.
Coordinate pre-event briefing sessions and post-event debrief meetings to capture insights, feedback, and outcomes.
Ensure event activity is planned well in advance, with key milestones and diary dates communicated to stakeholders.
CRM, Lead Generation & Reporting
Support CRM processes for marketing campaigns and event lead generation activities.
Ensure all event-generated leads are accurately recorded within CRM systems and shared with the sales team within agreed timelines.
Assist in setting SMART objectives for marketing activities and events in collaboration with the wider team.
Track, measure, and communicate event ROI, engagement metrics, and campaign effectiveness.
Produce post-event summaries, reports, and performance insights for internal stakeholders.
Help identify opportunities to maximise event effectiveness and commercial return.
Content & Materials Management
Support the development of marketing materials in collaboration with medical, regulatory, and compliance teams.
Ensure all promotional materials comply with relevant industry standards, including the ABPI Code and internal approval processes.
Maintain version control and approval tracking for marketing assets and event materials.
Digital Marketing Support
Assist with website updates, email campaigns, webinar communications, and social media content where applicable.
Monitor digital engagement metrics and produce basic performance reports.
Support the management and maintenance of marketing databases and CRM systems.
Market Research & Analysis
Conduct competitor analysis and market research to support marketing and event strategies.
Collect and analyse market data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Assist in preparing presentations and reports for internal stakeholders.
Administrative & Team Support
Manage marketing documentation, project trackers, and activity timelines.
Support budget tracking, purchase orders, and supplier coordination for marketing activities and events.
Liaise with external agencies, venues, printers, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of services and materials.
Coordinate internal meetings, including sales meetings and cross-functional team sessions.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Life Sciences, Business, or a related field
1-2 years' experience in a marketing, events, communications, or administrative role
Strong Microsoft Office skills including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Experience coordinating meetings, events, or webinars
Desirable
Experience within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or medical device industry
Knowledge of UK healthcare marketing compliance requirements, including ABPI guidance
Experience using CRM platforms and/or marketing automation systems
Familiarity with project management tools such as Monday.com
