Regional Laboratory Manager – London (Job Ref: 26/RLML)

We are currently looking for an experienced Laboratory Manager to take full ownership of our regional clinical laboratory in Great Portland Street in London.
Location: Randox Health, 143-149 Great Portland Street, London, W1W 6QN.
Contract Offered: Full-time, permanent.
Working Hours / Shifts: 40 hours per week. This lab is open 24/7 so some evenings, mornings and weekends will be required.
For this position, as you may be in contact with live blood samples, you must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or be able to get it following a successful interview stage.

This is to ensure completion of our 9-month probationary period and for any potential sponsorship decisions to be considered. What does this role involve?
This role is responsible for the leadership performance of the overall laboratory. The main duties of the role include:
Manage the end-to-end performance of the laboratory from turnaround times, QC and repeat-rate management through to stock control and cost efficiency.
Use data to drive continuous improvement rather than waiting to be told what to fix.
Lead and develop a team of Team Leads, mentoring the next generation of laboratory leaders.
Work closely with our Operational Performance Partners to keep the lab compliant and audit-ready against ISO 17025, ISO 15189, GCP and MHRA standards.
Actively seek out new technologies and smarter processes to keep our diagnostic offering ahead of the curve.
Overall management of the laboratory staff, including conducting appraisals and delivering training, along with your team leaders.
Ensure that the integrity of all samples is adhered to at all times.
Writing of new Standard Operation Procedures and Work Instructions within the Laboratory.
Ensure that clients are receiving the best possible service.
Qualified to at least degree level in Biomedical Science Biochemistry, Immunology or a Life Science.
Experience in diagnostic testing.
Previous experience working in a laboratory setting.
Be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills.
Demonstrable experience of working with strong attention to detail.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Knowledge of a variety of software packages including Microsoft packages such as Excel, Outlook and Word.
Currently have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
Previous managerial experience.
Previous experience in laboratory management.
Practical experience using automated analysers.
Experience in a private healthcare/laboratory setting.
Working knowledge of quality systems.
Working knowledge of Health and Safety, including CoSHH.
