Recruitment Consultant – Financial Services (Warm Desk)

Ortus PSR is a specialist recruitment consultancy working exclusively in financial planning and investment management. We place Paraplanners, Financial Advisers, Directors and C-suite leaders with high-growth SMEs, national IFA firms and international wealth management businesses across the UK.
We're hiring a Recruitment Consultant for our Bristol team. You'll inherit an active desk of established candidate relationships and industry connections from day one — a genuine platform to bill from quickly, with the scope to develop your own client base alongside it.
This is consultative recruitment, not CV-flinging. Our clients buy a range of products from exclusivity through to fully retained search, and they expect a trusted adviser who can talk credibly about market conditions, talent shortages and how to structure a hiring process that actually attracts top-tier people.
You'll also be backed by AI-enhanced tools that produce tailored client solutions and in-depth market summaries — taking the grunt work off your plate so your time goes on relationships and advisory work, where opportunity is created.
What you'll be doing
Building relationships with business owners, heads of department and C-suite leaders across the IFA and investment management sector
Advising clients on market conditions, talent strategy and recruitment structure — and having the difficult conversations others avoid
Sourcing and managing a pipeline of experienced financial services professionals
Developing new business alongside a warm, active desk of existing relationships
Positioning our product range, from exclusive assignments through to retained search
What we're looking for
Proven recruitment experience (any sector considered — financial services knowledge is a bonus, not a requirement)
Confidence engaging senior stakeholders, including owners and C-suite
A consultative, relationship-first mindset — you solve talent problems, you don't just fill vacancies
The resilience to prospect, balanced with the skill to nurture and convert warm relationships
A professional, credible manner suited to the financial services market
