Your new company You will be joining an established, multi-disciplinary building consultancy with a project management-led approach and a growing presence across the UK and Europe. The business provides services spanning project and programme management, building surveying, design support, stakeholder management, development advisory, risk management, due diligence and sustainability consultancy.
Its wider project portfolio covers residential, commercial, education, leisure and retail, industrial and infrastructure developments. The consultancy has experience across a varied residential market, ranging from lower-density developments to high-density schemes and larger masterplanned communities.
With a developing residential pipeline, this is an opportunity to join a consultancy where you can contribute commercially to upcoming work while collaborating with colleagues across different technical disciplines. The business promotes a hands-on, solutions-focused working environment and places particular emphasis on communication, collaboration and building effective project teams.
What you'll get in return
You will receive a salary of £40,000 to £50,000, depending on your experience and professional background.
The role offers exposure to an upcoming residential pipeline alongside the potential to support a broader range of property and construction projects. You will be joining a multidisciplinary consultancy where quantity surveying advice can be integrated with project management, building surveying, design, stakeholder and advisory services.
The consultancy's published careers information highlights dedicated senior mentoring, career development planning, annual progress reviews, continuing professional development activity and support for employees pursuing chartership. It also references a bonus scheme, although the eligibility, structure and value of any bonus applicable to this particular position would need to be confirmed during the recruitment process.
Your new role As Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial delivery of projects from the consultancy's Glasgow operation. Your responsibilities are likely to cover both pre-contract and post-contract quantity surveying duties. This may include preparing cost plans and estimates, supporting procurement and tendering exercises, producing tender documentation, evaluating contractor submissions and advising project teams on cost and commercial matters.
During the construction phase, you may be responsible for valuations, cost reporting, change control, financial forecasting and the assessment of variations. You will help maintain clear and accurate commercial information, identify emerging cost risks and support projects through to final account.
You will work alongside project managers, building surveyors, designers, consultants and external project stakeholders. The position will suit someone who can manage their own workload while remaining comfortable contributing to a wider multidisciplinary team.

Relevant quantity surveying experience gained within the UK construction or property market.
Practical knowledge of pre-contract and post-contract quantity surveying services.
Experience of cost planning, tendering, procurement, valuations, variations and cost reporting.

Progress towards, or achievement of, a relevant professional qualification such as MRICS.
Exposure to projects at different stages, from initial feasibility and design development through procurement, construction and completion.
Experience contributing to multidisciplinary project teams.
