Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way.
Airbnb’s Public Policy campaign team exists to further the interests of our community of hosts and guests with politicians, regulators, opinion leaders and media who shape the political and regulatory context for our business. We engage governments at all levels and use innovative advocacy and partnership strategies to make the case for fair and progressive rules for home sharing.
The role of the Public Policy Manager is to lead the conception and execution of successful policy and regulatory outcomes in the UK. Reporting to the Head of Policy and Public Affairs for Northern Europe, the Public Policy Manager will develop and execute integrated government relations, communications and public advocacy projects to achieve key policy objectives.
As Public Policy Manager, you will be relentlessly focussed on the big picture: able to strategise across multiple fronts, build effective relationships with policymakers and influence the outcomes needed to advance Airbnb’s business objectives. You should have a strong independent work ethic, excellent communication skills, and an ability to take big ideas and translate them into policy with creativity. You will bring a campaigning mindset, be details orientated and used to working with complexity.
Develop and implement Airbnb’s legislative and public policy objectives; including helping determine advocacy priorities, positions, and strategies.
Build and maintain relationships with an extensive network of contacts in local, regional, and national governments, as well as with allied groups a
