Rate: £600 per day

Your new company

You will be joining a public-sector organisation undertaking a major Finance Transformation Programme. The programme covers several interconnected systems and business areas, including Proactis, Income Management, Online Payments and Inventory Management.

Your new role

As Project Manager, you will lead and coordinate three finance systems workstreams. You will take ownership of delivery, establish clear governance and integrated plans, and coordinate internal teams and external suppliers.

You will drive the workstreams through requirements and solution design, testing, business readiness, go-live, hypercare and handover into ongoing application support.

Key responsibilities

Lead three interconnected finance systems workstreams, maintaining individual delivery plans and managing dependencies across the wider programme.

Establish project governance, milestones, RACI, reporting and escalation routes.

Create and maintain integrated plans covering resources, dependencies, critical paths and key milestones.

Manage risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies, actions, decisions and change controls.

Coordinate Finance, Procurement, operational, business and technology stakeholders.

Manage external supplier performance, accountability and delivery.

Support procurement activity and solution decision-making.

Oversee requirements, solution design and end-to-end process approval alongside Business Analysis and technical teams.

Plan and govern system testing, integration testing, UAT, defect resolution, training and business readiness.

Coordinate cutover, go-live, hypercare and transition into application management and support.

Produce concise reports and governance packs for senior stakeholders.

Essential skills and experience

Strong project management experience delivering finance systems, ERP implementations or technology-enabled finance transformation programmes.

Experience delivering multiple concurrent workstreams involving different systems, suppliers and business functions.

Strong knowledge of programme and project governance, planning, RAID management, dependencies and change control.

Full project lifecycle experience, covering mobilisation, design, testing, UAT, implementation and handover.

Strong third-party supplier and stakeholder management skills.

Experience coordinating technical and business teams around complex integrations and end-to-end processes.

Excellent communication, organisation and senior-level reporting skills.

The ability to take ownership and create a structure where requirements, plans or documentation may be incomplete.

Desirable skills and experience

Proactis or a comparable purchase-to-pay or procurement platform.

Income Management, Online Payments or Inventory and Stock Management systems.

Unit4, Unit4 Cloud or a comparable ERP environment.

Local government or wider public-sector transformation experience.
