Defence Project Manager Bristol | Permanent | £50K to £60K | Hybrid, 3 days onsite
We are recruiting several Defence Project Managers for permanent roles supporting complex UK defence programmes in Bristol.
These opportunities suit established Project Managers who have personally owned project delivery within defence. The focus is on delivering defined projects, work packages or control accounts rather than PMO support, planning or specialist project controls.
What you will be doing
Take ownership of projects, work packages or defined areas of delivery
Manage scope, schedule, cost, risks, issues, dependencies and change
Monitor delivery performance and take action where progress moves away from plan
Work across engineering, commercial, finance, Project Controls, suppliers and customer stakeholders
Support formal governance, reporting, assurance and approval activity
Manage priorities and delivery issues in a complex defence environment
What we are looking for
Substantive Project Management experience within UK defence
Clear evidence of personal project or work package delivery ownership
Experience managing risks, issues, dependencies, change and project performance
Strong stakeholder management across multidisciplinary delivery teams
A recognised Project Management qualification
Previous UK SC clearance
APM PMQ is particularly desirable and current SC clearance would be advantageous.
These roles are aimed primarily at experienced Project Managers with genuine delivery ownership will also be considered. The underlying requirement is for hands-on Project Management rather than PMO, scheduling, risk or cost specialism.
Security requirements
Due to the nature of the work, applicants must be sole British nationals and must previously have held UK Security Check clearance.
Location and working pattern
The roles are based in Bristol with a requirement to work onsite around 3 days per week.
Candidates should therefore be within a realistic and sustainable commuting distance of Bristol.
Salary
£50,000 to £60,000, depending on experience and level.
