Job Type: Full-time, shifts: 5am - 2.30pm & 1pm - 10.30pm. Changing weekly.

Location: Clackmannanshire

We are seeking a dedicated Shift Manager to oversee the production floor and ensure the smooth operation of our production area. This role is pivotal in providing leadership to employees and managing site production activities efficiently and effectively.

Day-to-day of the role

Manage and organise site production activities from raw materials to finished product, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and timeliness in line with daily production plans.

Account for packaging, finished goods, and wastage while ensuring robust systems for production planning and stock control.

Implement and oversee new business initiatives, procedures, and policies within adequate timescales.

Promote a culture of cost reduction and continuous improvement in manufacturing efficiencies and product quality.

Maintain due diligence to ensure all paperwork is complete and traceability of raw materials, packaging, and finished products at any stage.

Ensure the area managed is audit-ready at all times and provide support to close out any non-conformances related to food safety or integrity.

Comply with Health and Safety requirements, creating a team culture focused on health and safety.

Ensure a safe and hygienic working environment for all staff, including adherence to PPE requirements.

Identify machinery engineering improvements and develop business cases for investment in plant and machinery.

Ensure all procedures are carried out in accordance with the Company Quality System.

Implement a culture of food safety within your team, ensuring staff feel supported to raise any issues.

Ensure product quality meets or exceeds specifications.

Handle people management responsibilities including recruitment, conducting appraisals, and managing disciplinary meetings.

Responsible for planning and organising resources effectively, ensuring coverage for holidays and sickness.

Actively involved in the development and execution of staff training programmes.

Maintain effective communication channels with all team members.
