On behalf of NatWest, we are looking for a Product Owner - Fraud Intelligence for a 6 Month Day Rate Contract based in London. Please note this is a hybrid working model.
Job Description - The Role
As a Product Owner - Fraud Intelligence you will work within theEconomic Crime Hub's foundational fraud intelligence and decisioning capability. It brings together signals, context and behavioural patterns across journeys so the bank can recognise risk across channels, apply consistent judgement and intervene earlier. It strengthens existing journeys and capabilities, bringing models, rules, vendor signals and channels together through a reusable platform that can augment the current estate before progressively taking on more decisioning responsibility.
Work as the delivery team-facing Product Owner, providing clear day-to-day product direction and maintaining close alignment with the Lead Product Owner.
Own and communicate the product vision, outcomes and roadmap, translating the ambition to Connect, Sense, Decide, Conduct, Intervene and Exchange into a prioritised backlog.
Work with fraud specialists, customer journey teams, analytics, engineering and architecture to define the capabilities, while keeping clear boundaries between platform ownership and wider programme delivery.
Shape and prioritise technical enablers, including integrations, event and data flows, service contracts, orchestration, observability, resilience, security and non-functional requirements.
Lead discovery with users and stakeholders to identify priority journeys, validate needs and define measurable customer, fraud, operational and commercial outcomes.
Coordinate priorities and dependencies, Business Banking Transformation, Faster Payments Modernisation and other adopting journeys, ensuring requirements and ownership are explicit.
Guide journey-by-journey adoption, balancing strategic platform reuse with safe transition from legacy decisioning and ensuring existing customer protection is not weakened during migration.
Own backlog quality, acceptance criteria and value measures, making evidence-led scope and priority decisions with delivery teams.
Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, vendors and franchise teams, communicating technical trade-offs and creating confidence in the platform direction.
Track adoption, performance, benefits, risks and learning, using evidence to stop, pivot, persevere or scale.
You'll be a confident, outcome-focused product professional who is comfortable working through ambiguity and bringing together business, operational and technical perspectives.
Product ownership experience in a complex platform, payments, decisioning or data environment, from discovery through production and scale.
Ability to translate customer and fraud problems into platform capabilities, clear priorities, user stories, acceptance criteria and measurable outcomes.
Confidence working with architects and engineers on APIs, event-driven integration, data flows, orchestration, cloud services and non-functional requirements without needing to be the technical designer.
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills across business, risk, operations, data, technology and external suppliers.
Commercial awareness, including business cases, cost drivers, vendor dependencies, benefits realisation and product trade-offs.
Strong Agile product fundamentals, including discovery, experimentation, roadmap management, backlog prioritisation and iterative delivery.
Ability to operate in ambiguity, establish ownership and make proportionate, evidence-based decisions.
