Your role
The Packaging Excellence & Laboratory Engineer will own the testing and validation strategy behind HelloFresh's Packaging Excellence program, ensuring test plans are aligned with product, supply chain, and business risk priorities. This role goes beyond running tests: it's about making sure the right things are being tested, gaps in validation coverage are identified and closed, and results translate into actionable input for packaging and supply chain decisions.
Your area of responsibility
Define and own the testing strategy for packaging materials, aligning validation plans with food safety, supply chain and product goals
Identify gaps in validation coverage and design new test protocols to close them
Oversee and continuously improve use of mechanical testing equipment, climate chambers, leak testers, and related lab infrastructure
Analyze test data to identify trends, risks, and root causes, report findings and validation status to stakeholders, flagging risks proactively.
Own and evolve equipment/test Operating Procedures, ensuring methods reflect best practice.
Partner cross-functionally (Packaging, Food Safety, Supply Chain) to ensure business decisions and disruption mitigation
Maintain lab standards (5S) and ensure compliance with safety policies
Your profile
2+ years of experience in materials testing, packaging engineering, or a related lab/engineering environment
Degree or strong background in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
Strong data analysis skills; comfort translating technical results into business-relevant insights
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with statistical or data analysis tools a plus
Good English spoken and written, german is considered a plus
Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills as well as team work mindset.
Regular, reliable, predictable attendance in the office required
