What we're looking for
We're seeking an experienced Manager of Card Schemes Disputes to lead our chargeback operations across both issuing and acquiring. You'll manage two Team Leads and their teams (around 10 people each), overseeing every stage of the dispute lifecycle—from initial chargeback through to pre-arbitration and beyond.
This role is all about balancing great customer outcomes with smart commercial decisions. You'll need deep knowledge of Visa and Mastercard rules, know when to fight a case and when to let it go, and be able to lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced fintech environment.
You'll be
Leading end-to-end chargeback operations for issuing and acquiring across UK and EU markets
Managing Team Leads and building high-performing teams who deliver quality, speed, and results
Making expert calls on representment, pre-arb, and scheme escalations
Driving performance against recovery rates, SLAs, and operational KPIs
Working cross-functionally with Fraud, Product, Engineering, Risk, and Data teams to continuously improve processes and tooling
Acting as the go-to expert on scheme rules and dispute strategy across the business
What makes you a great fit
6+ years in card disputes, chargebacks, or payments operations (issuing and acquiring experience essential)
Proven track record managing team leads or managers in fintech, payments, or financial services
Strong knowledge of Visa/Mastercard scheme rules and the chargeback lifecycle
Data-driven and operationally excellent—you use MI to drive decisions and improve performance
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Comfortable in a fast-changing environment and excited by the challenge
