Management Accountant

We're working with an established and growing business in Bury to recruit a Part-Qualified or Newly Qualified Management Accountant.

This is a hands-on role with responsibility for the month-end and management accounting across multiple trading entities. It would suit an ambitious accountant who is looking to broaden their technical and commercial experience within a supportive finance environment.

You'll take ownership of the month-end process, producing accurate management information, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and working closely with colleagues across the wider business. There is also an opportunity to contribute to process improvements and develop your understanding of financial controls and wider group reporting.

You'll be responsible for

Owning the month-end close across multiple entities, ensuring deadlines and reporting requirements are met

Preparing monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow information

Posting accruals, prepayments, depreciation and other month-end journals

Completing bank, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations

Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning

Maintaining appropriate financial controls and supporting internal control processes

Assisting with internal and external audit requirements

Supporting VAT and year-end reporting activities

Providing clear financial commentary and explaining results to non-finance colleagues

Working with operational and commercial stakeholders across the business

Identifying opportunities to improve and automate reporting and finance processes

Managing your own workload across multiple entities and competing deadlines

You'll ideally be

ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or studying towards

Part-qualified and close to qualification will also be considered where you have strong relevant experience

Experienced in hands-on month-end and management accounting

Comfortable working to tight deadlines and managing multiple priorities

Highly competent in Excel

Accurate and detail-focused, with strong financial reporting skills

A confident communicator who can work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders

Self-motivated, organised and able to work independently

Commercially aware, with an appetite to develop beyond the core accounting function

It would be advantageous if you have

Experience working across multiple entities

Exposure to budgeting and forecasting

Experience with financial controls or compliance frameworks

Experience supporting audit and VAT processes

An interest in improving or automating finance reporting

Experience within a larger or group finance environment
