Reporting directly to a highly supportive and approachable Head of Finance, you'll gain exposure well beyond traditional management accounting, including acquisitions, commercial decision-making, business improvement projects, and strategic initiatives.

The Role

As Management Accountant, you'll play a key role in supporting the finance function and wider business. You'll be responsible for producing accurate financial information, providing meaningful analysis, and partnering with stakeholders to help drive business performance.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation and ownership of the monthly management accounts process

Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations

Month-end customer invoice reporting

Assisting with VAT returns and regulatory compliance

Producing monthly analytical reporting and variance analysis

Stock reconciliations

Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cash flow reporting

Providing financial analysis to support commercial and operational decision-making

Assisting with business improvement projects and ad hoc finance initiatives

Supporting wider finance activities when required, including sales and purchase ledger cover

About You

Part-qualified, qualified, or qualified by experience accountant

Experience preparing monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations

Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail

Commercially minded with the ability to turn financial data into meaningful insights

Confident communicating with stakeholders across the business

Strong Excel skills and experience using accounting or ERP systems

Proactive, adaptable and keen to make a genuine impact

Able to thrive in a fast-paced, growing SME environment
