Management Accountant

This is a senior, hands-on Management Accountant role responsible for taking full ownership of monthly management accounts, reporting, budgeting and financial insight within a fast-growing retail business. The position sits just below the Finance Director, offering immediate impact, high visibility and clear progression into a leadership role as the finance team and business continue to scale.

A fast-growing UK retail business backed by significant investment, delivering strong sales performance since launching. The organisation has recently built out its head office functions and is executing an ambitious five-year expansion plan across the UK and Northern Ireland.

Description Key Responsibilities

Full responsibility for monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and variance analysis

Production of high-quality financial reports with clear insight for senior stakeholders

Budgeting, forecasting and re-forecasting to support ongoing growth plans

Balance sheet reconciliations and investigation of anomalies

Cost analysis across key nominal ledger areas

VAT reconciliation and returns, ensuring UK compliance

Inventory and stock control, including provisions and reconciliations

Continuous improvement of management accounting processes and controls

Finance business partnering across head office functions including retail, marketing and ecommerce

Supporting and developing junior finance team members, with future people management responsibility

Profile About You

Qualified CIMA or ACCA (QBE considered with a strong track record)

Proven experience producing end-to-end management accounts in a commercial environment

Strong technical management accounting capability

Confident, credible and able to make an immediate impact

Hands-on with a "sleeves rolled up" approach

Strong communicator and collaborative team player

Previous experience managing or mentoring others is advantageous

Retail experience desirable but not essential

SAP experience useful; training will be provided

Job Offer

£55,000 - £60,000 per annum

Office based role, 9am - 5pm
