Management Accountant (Part-Qualified) Location: City of London (Hybrid - 3-4 days office based) Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 + Bonus + Study Support

Your new role

Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part-Qualified Management Accountant to join the finance team. Reporting into senior finance leadership, this role will take ownership of the month-end accounting process, management reporting, budgeting and forecasting activities, whilst also supporting commercial decision-making through insightful financial analysis. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving financial control, improving processes and supporting the continued growth of the business.

Key responsibilities

Prepare monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and variance analysis.

Take ownership of month-end close activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.

Support the annual budgeting process, forecasts and cash flow forecasting.

Provide financial analysis and business partnering support to operational stakeholders.

Assist with the preparation of board reporting and management information packs.

Monitor financial performance and investigate variances, providing meaningful commentary and recommendations.

Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure strong financial controls are maintained.

Support year-end statutory accounts preparation and external audit requirements.

Prepare VAT returns and assist with FCA and regulatory reporting obligations.

Support financial analysis relating to business opportunities, new product launches and acquisitions.

Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, controls and systems.

Build strong working relationships across the business and provide financial insight to support decision-making.

What you'll need to succeed

Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA is essential.

Experience in a Management Accountant, Assistant Management Accountant or Accountant position.

Previous experience producing full monthly management accounts.

Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.

Insurance or reinsurance sector experience is highly desirable.

Strong Excel skills with experience using financial systems such as Xero or similar ERP platforms.

Ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Commercially minded, proactive and keen to progress towards full qualification.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
