Your new role My client is seeking a capable and commercially minded Management Accountant to take full ownership of the management accounts for a defined portfolio. This role is suited to someone who is confident in delivering end-to-end monthly management accounts to tight deadlines, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can quickly build credibility with stakeholders.You will play a key role in providing accurate, insightful reporting, supporting cost control, and contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives within a growing and evolving business. Key Responsibilities

Take full ownership of the monthly management accounts for your portfolio, ensuring all journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations are completed accurately and on time.

Deliver clear variance analysis and written commentary, investigating movements against budget and forecast and providing meaningful insight.

Own and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, proactively identifying and resolving issues.

Work closely with budget holders to improve cost control, enhance reporting, and support informed decision-making.

Play an active role in budgeting and forecasting, coordinating inputs, challenging assumptions, and meeting strict deadlines.

Build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders, acting as a finance business partner to your portfolio.

Take initiative to streamline and improve processes within the management accounts function.

Remain hands-on and adaptable, supporting ad-hoc work, particularly during periods of change or acquisition integration.

Contribute to the annual audit process, preparing schedules and responding to audit queries.

Support the effective use and ongoing development of the organisation's planning and reporting tools

Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What you'll need to succeed

Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), actively studying towards qualifications, and a finalist would be a plus.

Proven experience in a management accountant role or similar in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Strong business partnering skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.

Proactive, organised and keen to develop within a growing finance team.

Experience with Sage Intacct, and/or Microsoft Dynamics is desirable.
