Management Accountant Trafford Park, Manchester £50,000-£55,000 per annum + Benefits Permanent

Are you a commercially minded Management Accountant looking to join a growing business where you can genuinely influence performance and drive improvements?

We're recruiting on behalf of a successful SME business that is investing in its finance function. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant who enjoys working closely with operational teams, improving processes and providing meaningful financial insight.

The Role

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll take ownership of the monthly management accounts for designated business areas, ensuring accurate financial reporting while supporting operational decision-making across the business.

You'll also play an active role in finance transformation projects, helping to improve reporting, strengthen controls and identify opportunities for greater efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals and prepayments.

Produce insightful management information, variance analysis and financial commentary.

Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and strong financial controls.

Take ownership of stock, WIP and margin reporting, ensuring financial accuracy.

Business partner with operational and manufacturing teams, providing financial support, challenging performance and identifying opportunities to improve profitability.

Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.

Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, process improvements and reporting automation.

Assist with year-end audit requirements and ad hoc finance projects.

Key skills sets required: ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or part, qualified by experience or similar Experienced in preparing management accounts within a manufacturing, engineering, construction or project-based environment. Confident with stock, WIP and margin accounting. Advanced in Excel Analytical, commercially aware and naturally curious. A proactive problem-solver who enjoys improving processes. Comfortable communicating with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
