MAGMASOFT Engineer / Casting Simulation Engineer
£35,000 - £45,000 + Specialist Technical Development + MAGMASOFT / MAGMA5 + Long-Term Progression
Monday - Friday / Days / 40 hours per week with flexible working hours available

Are you a Casting Simulation Engineer, MAGMASOFT experience, looking to build specialist technical expertise within a well-established foundry, working on complex cast components from feasibility and quotation through to validation and production improvement?
On offer is a fantastic opportunity that provides long term development in a role where you will take ownership of MAGMASOFT / MAGMA5 simulation.
This company are known for producing high-quality cast components and investing in engineering-led process improvement. Due to continued demand and a focus on improving margins through yield improvement and first-time-right initiatives, they are now looking to add to their specialist technical team.
In this role you will build and interpret simulations for iron and stainless steel castings, analyse likely defects and recommend design changes. You will work closely with the Pattern Shop, Foundry Engineering, Sand and Melting teams to translate simulation findings into practical tooling and process improvements.
This is a fantastic opportunity that would suit someone with hands-on MAGMASOFT / casting simulation experience who wants to deepen their technical capability, become the go-to simulation specialist, and progress within a technically focused engineering environment.
Run and interpret MAGMASOFT / MAGMA5 casting simulations
Optimise gating, feeding and risering design to balance quality, yield and cost
Support NPI and quotation feasibility / DFM studies, including customer technical interaction
Office-based role with regular time on the foundry floor, 40 hours per week (days)
Experience with MAGMASOFT / MAGMA5 or equivalent casting simulation software (e.g. ProCAST, SOLIDCast, FLOW-3D Cast)
Foundry / casting background with knowledge of defects and process improvement
Degree / HND in Metallurgy, Materials, Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience)
