Solicitor / Case Handler - Clinical Negligence

Location: Flexible (Remote and Office-based)

Join our esteemed client's Clinical Negligence Department at a national law firm known for delivering high-quality legal services. We are seeking a qualified Solicitor, FCILEx, or an experienced case handler with a background in claimant clinical negligence or serious PI caseloads. This role offers a dynamic work environment with the flexibility of working from home and attending the office 1-2 days per week.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Manage a varied caseload of litigated clinical negligence claims, including complex, high-value cases both pre and post issue.

Supervise within the group under the direction of the Group Leader and with the support of your line manager.

Adhere to the group’s case management procedures, SLAs, and achieve targets for billed costs, time utilisation, telephony, and case management to-dos.

Participate in team training and marketing activities.

Provide sensitive and professional interaction with clients, colleagues, experts, barristers, defendant representatives, insurance partners, and courts.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Fully qualified Solicitor/FCILEx or experienced case handler with a background in litigated clinical negligence or serious PI caseloads.

Excellent knowledge of the CPR and laws relating to clinical negligence.

Experience with Legal Expense Insurance, publicly funded, and conditional fee agreement arrangements is advantageous.

Strong organisational, IT, and communication skills.

Ability to manage tasks assertively, efficiently, and timely.

Proactive in planning and pushing cases to a successful conclusion.
