IT Support Technician (1st, 2nd & 3rd Line)

VB Group is seeking an experienced IT Support Technician to join our team at our Darwen site.
This is a broad, hands-on role supporting all aspects of the business's IT infrastructure and software estate. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support, maintaining business-critical systems, and contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of our IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1st, 2nd and 3rd line technical support to users across the business.
Install, configure and maintain desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers and other IT equipment.
Administer Microsoft 365, Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.
Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network and connectivity issues.
Support and maintain business applications and operational software.
Assist with system upgrades, migrations, deployments and IT projects.
Manage user accounts, permissions and IT assets.
Monitor system performance and ensure IT security best practices are maintained.
Produce and maintain technical documentation where required.
Liaise with third-party suppliers and service providers when necessary.
Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes and the overall user experience.
Skills & Experience
Minimum of 4 years' experience in an IT support role covering 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.
Good understanding of networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs and switching.
Experience supporting both infrastructure and business software applications.
Knowledge of virtualisation technologies such as Hyper-V or VMware would be advantageous.
Excellent troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to problem solving.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and take ownership of issues through to resolution.
