IT Support Engineer (12-Month FTC) | £30,000-£40,000

Location: East Yorkshire with occasional travel across Yorkshire Contract: 12-Month Fixed Term Contract Salary: £30,000-£40,000

Overview

A manufacturing organisation is seeking an IT Support Engineer to provide on-site technical support across multiple locations. The role focuses on end-user support, hardware deployment, troubleshooting, and supporting operational technology within production and warehouse environments.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver on-site IT support for users and devices across multiple sites.

Support PCs, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.

Diagnose and resolve hardware and connectivity issues.

Support industrial and warehouse technology, including scanners, label printers, touchscreens, handheld devices, and workstations.

Configure, deploy, replace, and relocate IT equipment.

Assist with user onboarding, moves, and leavers processes.

Maintain asset records, stock levels, and documentation.

Log and manage incidents and service requests via an ITSM platform.

Provide local support for IT projects, upgrades, and deployments.

Escalate infrastructure, application, network, and security issues where appropriate.

Required Experience

Previous experience in IT support, desktop support, field engineering, or site support.

Strong hardware troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

Good knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, computer hardware, and basic networking.

Experience using Service Desk/ticketing systems and working within ITIL-based environments.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Ability to work independently across multiple locations.

Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Desirable

Experience supporting manufacturing, warehouse, or operational technology environments.

Exposure to SAP, warehouse scanning devices, industrial printers, or mobile computing equipment.

Relevant IT qualifications or certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, ITIL, etc.).
