IT Business Analyst

The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced IT Business Analyst to join a dynamic technology and transformation function supporting a complex commercial and trading environment.

This role offers broad exposure across front-office systems, digital transformation programmes, data and analytics platforms, cloud technologies, and enterprise applications. We are looking for a technology-focused Business Analyst who can work across multiple projects and stakeholder groups, helping to bridge the gap between business needs and innovative technology solutions.

The successful candidate will play a key role throughout the entire project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design through to testing, implementation, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to identify, analyse and document requirements.

Facilitate workshops and requirements-gathering sessions across multiple business functions.

Translate business needs into clear functional and technical requirements.

Support the design and delivery of cloud-based, data-driven and digital transformation initiatives.

Work closely with development, architecture and project delivery teams to ensure successful solution implementation.

Define and support user acceptance testing, ensuring solutions meet business objectives.

Contribute to process improvement, system optimisation and innovation initiatives.

Support programmes and projects spanning business operations, technology, data and digital transformation.

Skills & ExperienceEssential

Proven experience as an IT Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or Technology Consultant.

Strong experience delivering technology and transformation projects in complex business environments.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently at all levels.

Experience working with cloud technologies and modern application architectures.

Strong understanding of business process analysis, requirements management and solution design.

Experience working within Agile, Scrum or hybrid delivery methodologies.

Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent professional experience.

Desirable

Experience with technologies such as Azure, Databricks, Power BI, or similar enterprise platforms.

Exposure to data analytics, business intelligence, AI/ML, cybersecurity, or cloud transformation programmes.

Knowledge of microservices, domain-driven design, or cloud-native solutions.

Python or other scripting/programming experience.

Experience within energy, commodities, financial services, telecommunications, or other highly regulated and fast-paced sectors.

Exposure to trading platforms, risk systems, or ETRM applications would be beneficial but is not essential.
