Interim Financial Accountant | 4-Month Contract Bath (Hybrid) September-December 2026 Interviews next week

I'm currently recruiting for an Interim Financial Accountant to join a large, complex organisation during a critical year-end and audit period.This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys rolling their sleeves up and working within a busy financial accounts environment.

Key responsibilities include: Supporting the preparation of annual statutory financial statements Managing and coordinating external audit requests and audit deliverables Reviewing and implementing accounting policies, with a focus on FRS102, lease accounting and revenue recognition Supporting financial controls, balance sheet reconciliations and year-end activities Working closely with the Financial Accounts Team Leader to ensure a successful year-end reporting cycle

We're keen to speak with candidates who have: Recent statutory reporting experience within a large or complex organisation Strong technical financial accounting knowledge Experience supporting external audit processes Excellent Excel skills and strong attention to detail Experience preparing reconciliations, working papers and technical accounting papers A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to operate independently when required

This role has been created to provide additional support during a particularly busy reporting and audit period and would suit an experienced Financial Accountant, Finance Manager, Financial Reporting Accountant or Audit-trained qualified accountant looking for their next interim assignment.
