HR Manager
Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire, based with travel to their other sites as required.
My client is leading organisation based in Wakefield who are looking for a proactive and experienced HR Manager to lead and develop their HR function, providing expert guidance and support across the business. This is a hands-on generalist role, responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of HR, supporting managers on employee relations matters, maintaining legal compliance, and driving continuous improvement across people processes and initiatives.

Employee Relations & HR Support
Recruitment & Onboarding
HR Operations & Administration
Absence Management & Wellbeing
Produce weekly and monthly HR reports, including employee metrics, starters, leavers and workforce updates.
Ensure all HR activities comply with current employment legislation and company policies.
Policy & People Initiatives
Develop, review and update HR policies and procedures.
Conduct annual policy reviews and implement legislative updates.
Lead and support HR projects, initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
Utilise the Apprenticeship Levy to maximise training and development opportunities across the business.
Deliver HR-related training and coaching to managers.
Health & Safety responsibility including maintaining records relating to workplace accidents and personal injury claims.
Act as the primary contact for insurance providers regarding employee injury claims.
Ensure compliance with company health and safety policies and procedures.
You will be a confident and knowledgeable HR professional with strong generalist experience and a passion for supporting managers and employees alike.
Essential Requirements
HR Generalist experience in a management level role.
CIPD qualified.
Right to work in the UK.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience managing employee relations cases.
Experience delivering HR training and coaching.
Knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
Good Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Ability to create spreadsheets and use basic formulas.
Experience of Gender Pay Gap reporting.
Experience of utilising the Apprenticeship Levy.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Competitive salary package paying circa £50k-£60k DOE plus company car / or car allowance.
