Job Title: HR Manager

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 plus excellent benefits

Hours: Full time – Monday to Friday – Hybrid

Location: Birmingham City Centre

We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Manager to join a well-established and respected financial services organisation.

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a comprehensive HR service across the business. Acting as a trusted advisor to both employees and managers, you will provide day-to-day support on a wide range of HR matters while managing and enhancing the full employee lifecycle.

Duties

·Provide practical advice and support on HR policies, procedures and general employee matters.

·Manage employee relations, absence, conduct, performance, wellbeing, flexible working and informal workplace concerns.

·Escalate complex, sensitive or higher-risk HR matters to the Operations Director and external advisers as appropriate.

·Manage onboarding and offboarding activity.

·Maintain accurate and confidential HR records.

·Support the Compliance Manager with maintenance and communication of HR policies, procedures and employee handbook updates.

·Support family leave, flexible working, probation, performance review and wellbeing processes.

·Assist with recruitment administration.

·Help ensure HR processes are applied consistently across offices and teams.

·Prepare monthly HR reports.

·Keep abreast of developments and changes in HR strategy and remuneration, reward and recognition of employees to ensure the staff retention rate.

·Work with the Head of People, to recommend and implement changes aimed at maintaining or boosting employee wellness.

·Coordinate onboarding checklists and ensure all required pre-employment checks are completed.

Key Skills Required

·CIPD level 7 qualified.

·Previous experience in a professional generalist HR role, within a professional service, financial services, or similar office-based environment.

·Good working knowledge of UK employment law, HR best practice and employee lifecycle processes.

·Confident providing practical, clear and confidential HR advice to employees and managers.

·Experience supporting onboarding, offboarding, absence management, employee relations and policy administration.

·Strong written communication skills and the ability to prepare accurate letters, notes, policies and employee communications.

·Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and confidential matters.

·Confident using HR systems, Microsoft 365, SharePoint and standard office tools.
