About the service The People Service is responsible for ensuring that members of the children's workforce have the right training, qualifications and on-going professional development to provide the high quality services. The People Service is made up of the following teams: Learning and Development (L&D) team, People and Payroll (PP) team and the Employee Experience and Development (EED) team. Our service operates across both of our operational areas (Richmond and Kingston and Windsor and Maidenhead local authorities).
The People and Payroll team lead on all of our human resource services, this includes providing recruitment, new starter and leaver administration, payroll, changes to roles/contracts, absence management and data and rewards management. In this role the post holder will work from one of our offices and from home, in line with our Future Space strategy. About the role The main purpose of this role is to deliver a high quality core HR, and recruitment service by delivering an excellent customer service experience for our managers, employees, candidates and colleagues. The post holder will be responsible for end-to-end recruitment processes, including quality assuring job profiles and adverts, speaking to candidates managers and agencies, job postings and onboarding new employees.
The post holder will report to the Recruitment and Compliance Manager and will be the first point of contact into the People and Payroll service and provide first line advice for internal and external queries in relation to all recruitment activity. Support will include responding to or referring queries to the appropriate team to answer, supporting colleagues with administrational support around recruitment and onboarding i.e. setting up new starters, processing pre employment checks, DBS renewals, managing a busy recruitment and / or HR inbox. In addition the role will support general HR administration i.e. contract amendments, probation checks, system inputting, absence queries, off boarding related to these service areas.
The post holder will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and a clear customer focus within a HR or recruitment environment. Key duties and responsibilities
Deal with various recruitment queries coming into the team (i.e. letter, phone, email etc) and referring complex queries to appropriate members of the team.
Undertake administrational support to colleagues i.e. compliance checks and records, screening applications / CVs, management of permanent and agency recruitment systems and contract amendments.
Advise managers on policy and procedures around recruitment and general HR, signposting to the relevant documents on the intranet.
Support and train employees and management with how to use the recruitment and HR systems.
Support the appointment process for successful applicants in line with our procedures.
Work closely with our neutral vendor agency management system.
Ensure the accuracy of data checking, inputting, processing and protection of data/correcting errors.
Use recruitment and HR systems to access and input data accurately and efficiently.
Support with monitoring and reporting vacancies to SLT / CSMT and assisting with key HR and recruitment metrics.
Provide an excellent customer experience through responding to enquiries, providing support, advice and guidance accurately to all employees and managers.
Support the administration of improving the recruitment systems.
Support with preparing meetings, DBS renewals, paperwork, ID checks to support compliance
Work well with others and support colleagues to be an effective team.
Follow clear protocols on maintaining accurate and up to date people records where required.
