Head of Finance

Reed Finance are delighted to be partnering with a large and complex organisation to recruit a Head of Financial Accounting.

This is a key leadership role within the finance function, responsible for leading financial accounting and transaction processing teams while ensuring the delivery of high-quality statutory reporting, financial control, compliance and technical accounting expertise.

Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will play a critical role in supporting strategic decision-making, maintaining robust financial governance and driving continuous improvement across finance operations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and develop the Financial Accounting and Transaction Processing functions.

Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and regulatory returns.

Provide expert technical accounting guidance on complex financial matters.

Ensure robust financial controls, compliance and governance arrangements are in place.

Manage relationships with external auditors and specialist advisers.

Support strategic financial planning and corporate reporting activities.

Drive process improvement initiatives and enhance financial systems and controls.

Partner with senior leaders across the organisation to provide commercial and financial insight.

About You

Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).

Significant experience in financial accounting, statutory reporting and financial control.

Strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to interpret complex accounting issues.

Proven leadership experience, including managing and developing finance teams.

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Experience working within a large, complex organisation.

Knowledge of charity, public sector or not-for-profit accounting environments would be advantageous.
