Team description
SumUp's Global Benefits & Mobility team looks after the health, retirement and wellbeing programmes that support thousands of SumUppers across dozens of markets, and right now that team is stretched thin, with most of its capacity focused on global mobility rather than benefits. This role exists to close that gap: taking ownership of benefits portfolio management and delivery globally, with an initial emphasis on Spain, where the team's rapid growth from 100 to 500 employees has outpaced its benefits offering, creating a genuine build-from-scratch opportunity. It's a rare chance to build benefits processes and communications from the ground up rather than inherit an established system, working closely with People Operations, Payroll and external partners to shape how SumUp looks after its people.
What you'll do
Lead the design and rollout of new benefits programmes globally, with an initial emphasis on Spain and southern Europe, including the transition to a global insurance broker and pension arrangement
Map end-to-end processes for core benefits like health insurance and parental leave to spot gaps and inefficiencies
Work with local People Operations partners on benefits renewals, benchmarking and vendor negotiations, sharing ownership of outcomes that affect their teams
Partner with People Operations and Payroll in each country to keep benefits administration accurate and transparent
Improve how benefits are communicated to candidates, SumUppers and leadership, including exploring an AI assistant for common policy questions
You'll be great for this role if…
Experience managing employee benefits programmes such as health insurance, pension schemes or paid leave
Familiarity with the Spanish benefits and insurance market, with experience in Italy or France considered a strong advantage
Ability to interpret and adapt to new market regulations, even without prior multi-
