Meraki Talent are looking for an experienced Financial Reporting Team Manager to lead the preparation of high-quality GAAP financial statements for clients in support of their annual audit processes.
The role sits at the centre of a busy financial reporting function, working closely with clients, auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure financial statements are accurate, compliant and delivered to agreed deadlines.
You will have responsibility for managing two offshore financial reporting teams of up to 30 people, providing leadership, technical direction, quality oversight and day-to-day coordination across a varied client portfolio.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to lead large, geographically dispersed teams.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the preparation and review of annual GAAP financial statements for a portfolio of clients.
Preparing and review of up to 700 sets of financials per year for hedge and private equity funds.
Ensure financial statements are prepared in accordance with the relevant accounting framework, including US GAAP and International Accounting Standards / IFRS.
Oversee the preparation of financial statement disclosures, supporting schedules and audit documentation.
Review financial statements for technical accuracy, completeness, consistency and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
Identify and resolve complex accounting and financial reporting issues.
Support the annual audit process by coordinating financial statement preparation, auditor requests and associated deliverables.
Liaise with auditors to resolve financial reporting queries and ensure timely completion of audits.
Keep up to date with changes to relevant accounting standards and assess their impact on client financial statements.
Establish and maintain strong financial reporting processes, controls and review procedures.
Applicants must be highly experienced within financial reporting or fund accounting with strong technical knowledge and proven experience managing teams and client relationships.
