Client Details
A large, established UK group with a strong reputation and a long-term focus on supporting its customers through protection, pensions and investment solutions. The business has a sizeable and experienced Finance function, with a strong emphasis on technical accounting, financial reporting, governance and control.
You'll join an experienced Financial & Regulatory Reporting team alongside technically strong accountants, with the opportunity to learn from people who have significant sector and reporting expertise. The team works closely with senior Finance stakeholders and the wider business, including supporting reporting for Board and Audit Committee audiences.
Description
You'll play an important role in the delivery of the Group's external and corporate reporting, working closely with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business.
Supporting the preparation of the Group Annual Report & Accounts
Preparing financial statement notes, disclosures and supporting papers
Supporting the monthly Group consolidation
Preparing subsidiary statutory accounts and quarterly management reporting
Producing reports and papers for the Board and Audit Committee
Reviewing and challenging reported results, ensuring the numbers tell a clear and accurate story
Researching and supporting the implementation of new accounting disclosures and requirements
Coordinating information and evidence from teams across the business
Reviewing financial information and carrying out analysis to support reporting
Supporting improvements to reporting processes, controls and the wider control environment
Carrying out financial assessments and due diligence on key suppliers and vendors
Profile
We're looking for an ACA-qualified accountant with strong financial reporting fundamentals and a genuine interest in developing further within a Group environment.
ACA qualification with 2-3 years' post-qualified experience
Experience within an audit or financial reporting environment
Strong knowledge of preparing and/or auditing financial statements
Good understanding of UK GAAP and/or IFRS
Strong analytical and numerical skills
Excellent written communication and report-writing ability
Exposure to financial services/ insurance/ FCA regulated environments
