Finance Team Leader

Finance Team Leader

3-6 Month Temp Contract

Competitive pay, on-site, short notice start

Finance Team Leader We're excited to be supporting a well-established business in the Nuneaton area as they look for a Finance Team Leader to join them on a defined contract, likely running 3 to 6 months. This is a genuinely hands-on leadership role at the centre of a live system changeover, not a desk job watching from the side-lines. It's a brilliant opportunity for someone who wants real, visible impact without the long wind-up of a permanent role. The ideal person for this role is bubbly, engaging and genuinely motivated by people, someone who thrives in the middle of the action rather than just overseeing from the side-lines. You'll bring energy, structure and a positive mindset, and you're the kind of leader your team naturally wants to perform for. You love a fast-paced challenge, and you won't be knocked off balance when the ground shifts beneath you.

What You Will Be Doing

Leading a finance team through a live system changeover, keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly while everything else changes around them.

Mentoring, guiding and developing the team, providing regular support so nobody feels lost or left behind during the transition.

Allocating workloads effectively, making sure deadlines and service levels are consistently met.

Acting as the first point of escalation for complex queries, issues and process challenges.

Working closely with IT and project colleagues to test, troubleshoot and bed in new processes as they go live.

Monitoring team performance through KPIs, stepping in wherever performance dips during the transition.

Supporting month-end activities, making sure deadlines are hit and information stays accurate.

Maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders throughout the changeover.

Providing hands-on support during busy periods, making sure nothing backs up while the new system beds in.

Helping steady and onboard the team, keeping everyone consistent and confident as processes shift.

What We Need From You

Proven people management experience is essential. This role lives or dies on how well you lead a team, not on any one technical skill.

A bubbly, engaging personality, someone who naturally brings people with them and makes a team want to perform.

Genuinely motivated by people, energised by helping a team succeed rather than just hitting numbers.

Someone who loves a fast-paced challenge and finds energy in pressure rather than being knocked off balance by it.

Confidence guiding others, allocating work and acting as a point of escalation.

Comfortable working through a live system implementation or major process change, not just reading about one.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships quickly.

Based on-site, full time, throughout the contract. This is not a hybrid or remote role, and availability at short notice is essential given the live go-live timeline this covers.

What's in it for you

A clearly defined contract, likely 3 to 6 months, rather than an open ended commitment.

A full-time, in-office position that puts you right in the middle of the business, giving genuine exposure to the wider projects being run and a great chance to build your network.

A competitive rate of pay for the length of the contract.

If you're someone who's bubbly, hands-on, loves a fast pace and is ready to make an immediate impact, I'd love to hear from you.
