I am delighted to be working with a fantastic organisation seeking an experienced and commercially focused Finance Manager to lead and oversee its accounting and financial management functions. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified finance professional to play a key role within a dynamic organisation. The successful candidate will lead day-to-day accounting operations, support strategic financial planning, and help develop robust financial systems and controls across new and existing services. About the Role Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting operational and strategic decision-making. The role will also take the lead in designing and implementing financial processes for new business areas and services, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities
Produce monthly management accounts, forecasts, and financial reports
Support annual budget setting and business planning cycles
Prepare annual accounts and coordinate external audit requirements
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, Standing Financial Instructions, and governance procedures
Develop and improve accounting systems, processes, and controls
Provide financial advice and support to operational managers and senior stakeholders
Support financial strategy and business decision-making
Lead on costing and evaluation of new business cases and commercial opportunities
Supervise and support finance team activities
Drive automation and continuous improvement, including enhancement of fixed asset reporting and advanced Excel-based processes
About You You will be a motivated finance professional with strong technical accounting skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Essential Requirements
CCAB qualified accountant, part-qualified accountant actively working toward qualification, or equivalent relevant experience
Significant experience in financial management and accounting
Experience managing or supervising staff
Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial systems knowledge
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
Understanding of financial reporting standards and company accounting
Commercial awareness and experience supporting business cases
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Desirable Experience
Experience within large complex organisations public or private
Knowledge of wholly owned subsidiaries, transfer pricing, and joint venture accounting
Commercial sector experience
