Group Finance Manager

The Opportunity
Reed Finance are delighted to be working with a growing multi-entity organisation to recruit a Group Finance Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Finance Manager, Senior Management Accountant, or Assistant Financial Controller who is looking to take ownership of a broad finance role with responsibility for financial reporting, cashflow management, team leadership, financial controls, and continuous improvement.
Reporting directly to the Group Finance Director, you will play a key role in supporting the continued growth of the business while helping to build a scalable and high-performing finance function.
The Role
As Group Finance Manager, you will lead the day-to-day operations of the finance team across multiple group entities. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining robust financial controls, improving working capital performance, and delivering meaningful financial insight to support decision-making across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Management Accounts
Take ownership of the monthly close process across the group.
Prepare and review monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cashflow reporting.
Produce group consolidations and variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year.
Ensure balance sheet reconciliations, journals, accruals and prepayments are completed accurately and on time.
Provide clear commentary and analysis on business performance and key financial trends.
Support year-end accounts preparation, audit requirements and external adviser requests.
Cashflow & Working Capital Management
Develop and maintain rolling cashflow forecasts, including a 13-week cashflow model.
Monitor cash positions and proactively identify risks and opportunities.
Drive improvements in debtor management and cash collection processes.
Review aged debt and ensure overdue balances are managed effectively.
Oversee supplier payment planning in line with cashflow requirements and business priorities.
Team Leadership
Lead, support and develop a finance team covering Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable/Credit Control and Finance Operations.
Allocate work effectively and ensure key deadlines are met.
Provide coaching, mentoring and development opportunities for team members.
Introduce cross-training initiatives to improve resilience and reduce key-person dependency.
Conduct regular one-to-one meetings and support performance development plans.
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, be part-qualified with substantial relevant experience, or be qualified by experience.
Proven experience preparing management accounts and managing month-end processes.
Previous experience supervising or managing finance staff.
Excellent Excel and accounting systems skills.
