Finance Manager
Annual Salary: Circa £40-45,000
Location: Central London (Hybrid, 3 days in the office, 2 days from home)
Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Finance Manager to lead the Finance team for this highly successful Education group, reporting directly to the Finance Director. The group educate in a specialised field within both Further and Higher Education. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of an efficient, accurate, and customer-focused finance service across the group. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day operations, including line management, coaching, mentoring, and developing team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
Oversee the coordination and delivery of month-end processes and management reporting.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and manage the annual audit process.
Maintain robust financial controls, procedures, and reporting standards, identifying opportunities for process and efficiency improvements.
Build strong relationships with budget holders and stakeholders, providing high-quality financial information, analysis, and advice to support decision-making.
Manage competing priorities and contribute to the strategic development of the Finance function and wider organisation.
Utilise Sage Intacct to support robust financial management, reporting, and operational excellence.
Educated to A Level standard or equivalent, preferably in Maths, Accounting, or a related discipline.
Significant experience in a similar Finance Manager or senior finance role, including managing a small finance team.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and experience with computerised accounting systems.
Proficient in financial controls, reconciliations, month-end procedures, and statutory and management accounts preparation.
Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, capable of building effective working relationships and communicating financial information clearly.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience with Sage Intacct is desirable.
