Senior Equity Finance Manager

Are you a hands-on Finance Manager looking for a role where you're genuinely close to the business, rather than being another cog in a large finance function?
We're working with an established, owner-managed manufacturing business in Oldbury who are looking for a well-rounded Finance Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function and work closely with the MD.
This is a down-to-earth business with a hardworking team and no unnecessary corporate politics. They want someone who knows their numbers, isn't afraid to get stuck in and can act as a trusted financial partner to the MD.
The Role
You'll take responsibility for a broad finance function, ensuring strong financial control whilst also providing the commercial insight the business needs to make informed decisions.
Manufacturing experience will be important, particularly someone who understands how the finance numbers connect to the operation. You'll need to be comfortable working with BOMs, product costing, stock and margins, rather than simply producing reports without understanding what's driving them.
The business also operates across multiple currencies, so you'll have exposure to foreign currency transactions and the financial implications that come with an international customer/supplier base.
It's a role where you'll be expected to roll your sleeves up when required, but also have the confidence to challenge and advise the MD when the numbers tell a different story.
Previous experience as a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or Financial Controller within a manufacturing environment
Strong financial accounting and management accounting experience
A good understanding of BOMs, product costing, stock and manufacturing margins
Experience working with multi-currency transactions
Strong financial control and month-end knowledge
The confidence to work closely with an MD/owner and communicate financial information clearly
A hands-on, practical approach and willingness to get into the detail
Strong commercial awareness and an interest in understanding the wider business
Ideally professionally qualified or actively working towards a qualification
A genuinely broad Finance Manager role with plenty of ownership
Direct exposure to the MD and the opportunity to influence commercial decisions
The chance to work across both the financial and operational sides of a manufacturing business
A down-to-earth environment with a hardworking team
The autonomy to improve processes and strengthen financial controls
A role where your input will be valued and you'll have genuine visibility across the business
If you're looking for a Finance Manager position where you can really understand the business behind the numbers, have a close relationship with the MD and make a tangible difference, this could be a great opportunity.
